Natural Law
Natural Law
The myriad of mechanisms
clouds of intricacy
thickets of complexity
mysteries solved
unsolved
and not yet recognized
which comprise all that is large
and all that is small
and everything in between
everywhere
in all imaginable universes
exist whether or not
there is consciousness
available to understand them
The tree is there
even if no sentient entity
is present to witness its fall
Toddlers discover physics
by bumping and falling
into the world around them
Astronomers and physicists
mathematicians and biologists
and all the other scientists
and deep thinkers
are the toddlers
who recognize the phenomena
and create the knowledge
resulting in the understanding
of the principles
governing natural phenomena
the natural laws
The unconscious system
from which biology emerges
creates a consciousness
which attempts to understand it
The natural laws
currently recognized
will be improved upon
corrected or discarded
reconsidered and reinterpreted
based upon observational evidence
and theoretical reformulation
At the end of time
in this universe
the natural laws
applicable to the transformation
into another
will govern the transition
and evolution
of all that follows
The same laws will apply
to the very wide range of probabilities
with some likelihood
that consciousness will emerge
and the laws of nature
will be discovered
by intelligent beings
one of whom undoubtedly
will pen a poem
similar to this one
Aubrey Lieberman
Footnotes: I prefer to use the term, laws of nature, rather than laws of physics. The terms are interchangeable, but, in the current vernacular, nature will appeal to a wider audience.
Laws made up by people to manage behavior in society, are part of perishable codes of a utilitarian nature, and inherently transient. Natural laws are entirely independent of these, and present whether or not they are recognized at all.
