  A kiss is just a kiss I know you love your car but I must remind you that it doesn't love you Its the people who designed it and those who made its parts and those who assembled them who do the people who brought it to the dealership the people who sold it to you the bank which employed the people who provided the loan the insurance company  employing people to replace your beloved vehicle if you have the misfortune of being involved in an accident and the hospital which employs people to help you if you are injured not to mention the people who make the tires who maintain the roads who work at the gas stations and at the rest stops along the highways This is how we love each other how we stay connected how we all get along This love is obscure its quite concealed but you can  almost always count on it It is almost always there as time goes by Aubrey Lieberman 7/4/21

           Always and instantly   On a clear night before the moon has risen and the sky is sparkling I yawn and draw the curtain  and climb into bed I do not consider the fact  that I have carelessly blocked photons which may have originated during the time that  multicellular life evolved  here on earth a half billion years ago or when the solar system formed about four billion years ago or perhaps when the universe was born nearly fourteen billion years ago Light travels at the speed of light so for the photons of which it is comprised time is standing still and hence the photons are ageless For a photon originating sixty five million years ago coincident with  the dinosaur extinction and reaching our telescope today the entire experience is instantaneous Aubrey Lieberman 9/16/23

  Holding hands with the moon I am sitting in a room  watching the tide through the palm trees Its low and  the beach is wide My surfboard is waxed and waiting ready to go when  cool water meets hot sand I rest when the tide is high and carry my board  across the narrow beach again  when it begins to wain All of us are connected to the moon Surfers hold its hand Aubrey Lieberman 4/29/21

  Insurance Long before there were actuaries and economists before insurance companies with names on tall buildings there were and always will be natural insurance Entropy ensures that time  moves in only one direction  except at the subatomic level gravity ensures that matter clumps in a certain way that objects relate to each other predictably and star systems like ours live and die predictably  based on the systems  we understand as physics It was not a committee or a governing body which decided upon the mode of operation of the standard model or the processes that are  gravity and electromagnetism the emergence of chemistry  and from it biochemistry that resulted in life everywhere on the planet a process that all living things can count on The certainty that if we are able to eat and drink and breathe and regulate our temperatures in accordance with our biochemistry we will survive in the niche in which we evolved for a fairly predictable period ...
