Age

   Age

We acquire the concept

of life expectancy

relatively early in life

and quickly learn

that lifespan varies hugely

amongst the myriad of species

of all forms of life

in and on

the planet we inhabit

Although we may never

think about it

we assume intuitively

that our body parts

that all of our organs

will age synchronously

And when we age well

the process is well coordinated

When we don't

the discordance may be jarring

Our minds may begin

to leave our bodies

in advance of similar deterioration

in organs other than the brain

or

on the contrary

one of the other organs

may fail first

As a result

of the evolutionary process

there is a fair chance that

synchronicity will be preserved

and that our bodies and minds

will walk the long walk

back toward stardust

hand in hand
