 Old age


The process we call aging

probably came to be

quite soon after life began 


Yeast cells must have done it

a billion years ago


Aging is more than entropy

which is not a simple process 


It is a complex adaptive response

based upon epigenetic mechanisms

tweaked toward species survival

over many millions of years

of evolution on this planet


If nature can do it

modern science may discover how

and is in the process of doing so


Hold onto your hat

It may be quite a ride
