 No matter what


Before there was

space or time

there was energy

with nowhere to go 

no place

to call its own 

only fields

without fermions 


Then suddenly

like a magic trick 

in a dark room

there were baryons 

in an expanding void

and surfing photons

surpassing the speed of light


During that Planck moment

the first ten to the minus  

forty four seconds or so

times five point three nine

everything was born


It has been a while

getting on fourteen billion years 

but humans

still can’t get along

like a Pauli exclusion principal

at the scale of life
